Entry to practice
Completion of an internship and training course approved by NZASRDP such as:
- Graduate Diploma in Health Science (Renal Physiology) - Auckland University of Technology
- Graduate Diploma of Medical Science (Clinical sciences) -James Cook University (Australia)
- Swinburne University - Professional degree with 12 month renal placement (Australia)

Post graduate development
Supervised practice for 1 year. NZASRDP approved dialysis certification exam

Overseas trained Renal Physiologists
Registration in New Zealand as a Renal Physiologist is determined by NZASRDP membership.
